Stratford voters who live in Representative Harkins’ 120th Assembly District and would like to sound off on competing state budget proposals, the death penalty as well as local issues can register their opinions by going to Rep. Harkins’ website (www.repharkins.com)and responding to his new on-line survey.
“I am looking for guidance from my Stratford constituents on how they feel about the competing budget proposals that have been offered by legislative Republicans and Democrats,” Rep. Harkins said. “The Republican proposal would balance the budget without raising taxes while the proposal legislative Democrats have offered would increase taxes by $3.3 billion.”

“Other questions on my survey include abolishing the death penalty, tax incentives to stimulate business growth and create jobs, the redevelopment of the old Raybestos softball field, the future of Sikorsky Airport, and eliminating the law that provides taxpayer dollars to fund election campaigns and using funds earmarked for the program to mitigate the deficit,” Rep. Harkins said.
